Pakistan wanted to see a stable Afghanistan and peace between Islamabad and New Delhi, he said while speaking at an event held in connection with Easter at Pakistan’s embassy in Washington.
He stressed that Pakistan wanted better ties with all its neighbors, including India.
Speaking about rights of minorities, the ambassador said Pakistan’s Constitution provides complete protection to the minority communities residing in the country.
Kartarpur Corridor was a message of love and peace from Pakistan, he said, adding that the opening of the corridor was the longstanding desire of the Sikh community.
Dr Asad said Pakistan’s security situation had improved a lot.
He said the country is a better place for tourism as Islamabad has already changed its visa policy completely and that the government was encouraging religious tourism.
A good number of Christians and members of other religious communities attended the event.
